Mr. David Collins

Mr. David Collins is currently in his second year as the Associate Director of Bands at Elberta High School. He graduated from Oak Mountain High School in 2013 in Hoover, AL and was under the direction of Mr. Jim Duren and Mr. Kevin Ownby. After high school, Mr. Collins attended the University of South Alabama where he was a member of the Jaguar Marching Band.

He served as a section leader for three years, was the principal saxophone for the Wind Ensemble, and was an undergraduate teaching assistant in his last year for the marching band. Mr. Collins is a member of the National Educators Association (NEA), Alabama Education Association (AEA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA), the Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.

Mr. Collins lives in Daphne, AL with his wife, Callie Collins. His teaching duties at the high school consist of teaching the Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Concert Band. Mr. Collins also serves as the middle school band director at Summerdale School and as the beginning band director for all the feeder pattern Elementary Schools.
